By admin

The Long Pond (1 / 241)

A typical micropub a short walk from the station. One room layout with plenty of seating it offers up to 6 cask ales served on gravity from the cold room behind the bar. Note that it closes during the afternoon. There is a lunch time food offering.

Hop Fuzz – Cascade – 4.2% (Cask) – £2.20 1/2 pint

The Park Tavern (2 / x)

Large corner pub, tucked a short walk back from the high street, with a fantastic tiled exterior. Spacious interior and with an impressive beer garden to the rear. A dozen taps serve mostly macro brands and there are 6 handpumps serving a range of regional breweries. Full food menu.

Batemans – XB – 3.7% (Cask) – £2.30 1/2 pint

The Rusty Bucket (3 / 242)

Fantastic pub just off the high street. 18 taps of quality beers plus 2 cask ales served on gravity and a fridge of packaged beers. Spacious, airy, one room setup with plenty of seating plus some additional seats on the pavement outside. No food beyond bar snacks.

Pillars – Haus – 3.5% (Draft) – £3.00 1/2 pint

The Cockpit (4 / 243)

An interesting setup of a bar that also houses a florist at the front. More of a pub feel than a micropub, but definitely a micropub ethos with 7 cask ales available, all served on gravity from the cold room. Cosy with some seating inside and additional seating out to the front. Food, in the form of ploughmans and the like, is served.

Neptune – Ezili – 4.0 (Cask) – £2.45 1/2 pint

One Inn The Wood (5 / x)

Micropub close to the station. 6 cask beers on gravity from the cold room plus a couple of keg beers and a well stocked fridge. This is a typical micropub setup, done well. The cask range is from far and wide and includes some of the best UK breweries. Seating is in the one room bar and on the tables and benches out front. Cheese and/or charcuterie boards are offered.

Not That California – The Filthy Bas**rd – 4.9% (Cask) – £2.00 1/2 pint

The Kentish Belle (6 / 244)

Single room micropub in a former shop with up to 7 keg beers and 6 cask beers available alongside a well stocked fridge. The range of beers is very well selected and offers something for everybody. This is a very good example of the micropub style with plenty of comfortable seating, inside and out. Food is limited to bar snacks.

Brew York – Coney – 4.5% (Draft) – £2.70 1/2 pint

The Long Haul (7 / 245)

Another classic one room micropub in an old shop unit. Offering 3 gravity cask ales and 6 keg beers alongside packaged beers from the fridge. Clearly very popular with the local community due to how busy it was in the middle of a Thursday afternoon. It’s easy to see why, a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with great beer. A bit tricky to get to, but worth making the effort.

Time & Tide – Smesh – 3.4% (Draft) – £2.80 1/2 pint

Bird & Barrel (8 / 246)

Small one room bar, with a beer garden, that is owned by Bexley Brewery and acts as their de facto taproom. 3 handpumps and 4 taps. Expect to find their own beers plus well chosen guests. Cosy space with enough seating, but with extra in the beer garden when the weather is good. Food is limited to bar snacks.

Bexley – Bursted – 3.8% (Cask) – £2.10 1/2 pint

The Penny Farthing (9 / 247)

One of the longer standing micropubs, seemingly a classic one room setup next to the river Cray, just off the town centre, but they have an additional room to the rear which is also available to hire. Offering up to 4 gravity cask ales from the cold room and 3 keg beers. This is a friendly bar where conversation is encouraged. In good weather you can sit outside. Food is limited to classic bar snacks.

Welbeck Abbey – Georgiana – 3.7% (Cask) – £2.20 1/2 pint

The Hopper’s Hut (10 / 248)

Another classic one room micropub which is a specialty of this south east corner of London. This one differs in that it isn’t overtly cask led, with more keg beers available, up to 8 as opposed to the up to three cask ales. Expect to find the usual bench seating down both sides and a couple of tables outside. There is a pizza menu on one of the blackboards.

Beerblefish – Danelaw – 4.2% (Cask) – £2.50 1/2 pint

The Hackney Carriage (11 / 249)

A modern style single room micropub offering 3 cask ales on gravity from the cold room, 6 keykeg beers and two more from the taps on the bar plus an extensive cider offering. The usual setup of benches and tables plus a few more setup outside on the pavement. Food is restricted to bar snacks.

Shindigger – Festiva – 4.4% (Cask) – £2.40 1/2 pint

The Halfway House (12 / 250)

Another single room bar in Sidcup, a short bus ride from the others. This one offers 3 beers on handpump and has a further 8 beers on tap. Large corner bar setup limits the amount of seating, but it works well, and they have additional tables setup outside. No food is served.

Southwark – Bankside Blonde – 3.8% (Cask) – £2.10 1/2 pint
